![]() Uh I thought our kids probably played their best game of the year against Waddington. Porter Ridge got away from us very early. And then, you know, you get in a conference play, very tough conference, you know, cupper in week one, very good football team, always physical, uh found a way to, you know, win that game, find a way to beat Piedmont who's, uh you know, jumping out of a this year and then we lucky enough to finish here with Waddington Marver Ridge and Porter Ridge back to back to back, which are all very good programs and just, you know, find a way to stay in some of the games a little bit. Uh we scored and make the game 24 23 with two minutes left and, you know, just botched the extra point. Drew, you know, Weddington who we know really well, week one of the playoffs. And then, you know, of course, next week we go to Cox Mill who also had a really good year. Uh, we pick our first downing games over and I'm having to put it back to him, uh, get being on a double pass. You know, we get the ball back on our own 15. They were very physical, you know, all the way around the board, uh, kind of got out of hand force and then, you know, week two, we come back and our kids get ready for A L Brown and we play really well, jump out early, uh, just didn't quite know how to play with the lead yet, had a chance to ice the game late. Uh, we had a little bit of both last year, you know, we early in the year, Olympic a really good football team that made it the pretty, you know, decent run of the playoffs, uh, very well coached, you know, week one, uh, I was tough. First, you lose big, then you lose small, then you win small and win big. You know, I know the, the, the old saying is, you know, it really takes four years to kind of rebuild a program. Uh, I think the biggest thing is, you know, we were in a lot of games a lot closer than we really, you know, thought we'd be in early in the year. Um, I guess what are some lessons that, um, you all learned from last year, uh, both, you know, as a coaching staff and as a team. So, uh, three and seven season last year, I think there were some close games in there as well. That's what we've been trying to tell the kids is, you know, we have no control over the weather, but you do have control over, you know, coming in every day and giving effort that we need. ![]() ![]() So, been a lot of inside stuff this week, uh, in the gym and we're just getting to the point where we're trying to get in when we can get in and, you know, control, we can control. You know, we're two weeks in, unfortunately, this week, uh, I think everybody across the state kind of experienced a lot of weather outside. How are things going this morning in June? They're good. Welcome back to high school, Ryan Smith, head football coach, Sun Valley High School, uh, coach Smith.
